In the four weeks that the war in Iran has gone on, 13 American servicemembers have been killed, 313 have been wounded, and more than 4600 people across more than a dozen countries have been killed. But, Ali Velshi explains, Donald Trump has lost interest.
Senior White House officials told MS NOW that Trump is “bored” with the Iran war and wants to “move on” to other things.
Thousands of ground troops have already been deployed to the region, and the Pentagon is mulling over sending thousands more, despite the president also declaring to the American public that we’ve already won the war in Iran.
A month into the war, we have burned through more than 1000 air defense interceptor missiles, and more than 850 Tomahawk cruise missiles. That’s more than a quarter of our entire Tomahawk stock, in just a month. Just a third of Iran’s missile and drone stocks have been destroyed so far.
Velshi is joined by MS NOW senior national security reporter David Rohde to talk about the reality of the widening war versus Trump’s alternative reality and the danger of the Commander-in-Chief’s disinterest.
