Agreement to Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions apply to The Philadelphia Citizen Website located at www.thephiladelphiacitizen.org (the “Site”), including interactive areas such as multimedia and contests. BY USING THIS SITE, YOU AGREE TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. We reserve the right, at our discretion, to change, modify, add, or remove portions of these Terms and Conditions at any time and will change the “Effective Date” portion of these Terms and Conditions to reflect the date of such changes. Therefore, you should check these Terms and Conditions periodically for changes. Your continued use of the Site following the posting of changes to these Terms and Conditions will mean that you accept the changes.

Content Ownership and Use. All text, graphics, videos, user interfaces, photographs, trademarks, logos, sounds, music, artwork, and computer code (collectively “Content”), as well as the selection, coordination, or arrangement of such Content contained on this Site, are protected by international copyright and trademark laws. The Philadelphia Citizen hereby grants you a non-exclusive, non-sublicensable, nontransferable, revocable, limited license to reproduce and display our Content.

Author views. The opinions, beliefs, and viewpoints expressed by the various authors, forum participants, or individuals or organizations quoted, cited, or otherwise referenced on this web site do not necessarily reflect those of The Philadelphia Citizen, The Philadelphia Citizen’s Board of Directors, or official policies of The Citizen.

Endorsements. The Philadelphia Citizen is nonpartisan and recognized as a nonprofit organization by the Internal Revenue Service pursuant to 26 U.S.C. § 501(c)(3). The Philadelphia Citizen does not endorse or oppose any candidate for office or political party. Any statements of endorsement or opposition made by employees or board members of The Philadelphia Citizen which are not contained on this Site are solely the views of those employees or board members, are made in their personal rather than professional capacity, and are in no way attributable to The Philadelphia Citizen.

You further agree that any violation of these Terms and Conditions would cause irreparable injury to The Philadelphia Citizen, for which monetary damages would be inadequate, and consent to injunctive or other equitable relief. These remedies are in addition to any other remedies The Philadelphia Citizen may have at law or in equity.

Governing Law. You agree that any dispute about or involving this Site will be governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania without regard to its conflict provisions. You agree to personal jurisdiction by and venue in the state and federal courts in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. If you access this Site from another jurisdiction, you do so on your initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws, if and to the extent local laws are applicable.

Social Media Terms & Conditions By interacting with The Philadelphia Citizen on any form of social media (including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat), you grant to The Philadelphia Citizen the right to print, publish, broadcast and use, worldwide in any media now known or hereafter developed at any time or times, the content posted by you, your social media handle, any information posted on your social media page and any content within your posts, and for advertising and promotional purposes without any additional consideration.

Advertising Terms

We do not accept political ads, issue advocacy ads, ads containing expletives, ads featuring photos of children without documented right of use, ads paid for by PACs, and other content deemed to be partisan or misaligned with our mission. The Philadelphia Citizen is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, nonpartisan organization and all affiliate content will be nonpartisan in nature. Advertisements are approved fully at The Citizen's discretion. Advertisements and sponsorships have different tax-deductible eligibility.
