Ali Velshi Debunks “Abortion After Birth” Lie

The MSNBC host and Citizen board member on the dangerous rhetoric and how its directed at stripping women of their reproductive rights

This is the most dangerous era for women’s health in America in 50 years, Ali Velshi warns. Former president Donald Trump ensured that his Supreme Court would overturn Roe v. Wade and women’s right to reproductive freedom, and in the face of public outrage and state action to try and enshrine those rights once and for all, Trump and his far right ight allies are claiming that babies are “executed” after being born.

Velshi is absolutely clear on this: “Post-birth abortion is not a thing. It’s just not a thing.”

The description of the literal murder of infants and calling it “abortion after birth” is a disturbing lie that anti-abortion extremists have been spreading for decades. This rhetoric that Democrats, pro-women’s rights groups, and now Kamala Harris are advocating for killing babies is designed to justify forcing women to give birth and deny them the human right to reproductive healthcare. Millions of American women are in danger. Millions of Americans are hearing these ludicrous stories of “abortion after birth” and must be informed that they are false and dangerous.
