Who is eligible to win the three (3) $1,000 prizes in The Philadelphia Citizen’s 2021 Voter Lottery?

Any individual who is rightfully registered to vote in the County of Philadelphia and who casts a vote by mail or in person in the Philadelphia municipal primary election between March 29, 2021 and May 18, 2021. An individual need not cast a vote for any number of candidates or items on the ballot, but must have their ballot submitted to and counted by the Pennsylvania Secretary of State’s Office.

Who is ineligible to win?

  • Employees of The Philadelphia Citizen and their immediate family members
  • Elected officials and their immediate family members
  • Any individual employed by a campaign office whose candidate appears on the ballot in the 2021 municipal primary election
  • Ineligible voters, as defined by the laws and regulations of the City of Philadelphia, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the United States of America

How will the winner be selected?

On or before May 18, 2021, The Philadelphia Citizen will randomly select one polling place. The first voter who has cast a ballot to exit the polling station at the selected time will be one of the three winners to get $1,000. Payment will be made within 90 days of certification of the vote.

The other two $1,000 winners will be selected in a random drawing after all votes have been certified by the County of Philadelphia.

Should any person refuse the prize, then another random individual shall be selected. This process will continue until all the winners have been chosen.

Personal Release Agreement

Acceptance of the prize constitutes agreement that The Philadelphia Citizen may use the name, likeness, voice, image, or any other similar representation of the winner for informational or commercial purposes, including but not limited to future articles, stories, promotional materials, and any other such materials produced or published by The Philadelphia Citizen for any reason, or by any of its current or future partners in conjunction with this contest or similar contests in the future.

Miscellaneous

The “voter lottery” event is a sweepstakes, and does not require purchase for entry.

This event is sponsored and promoted by The Philadelphia Citizen, 2400 Market Street, suite 204 A, Offsite, Philadelphia, PA, 19103.

There shall be three prizes of $1,000 each, which shall be paid in one lump sum to each individual. The method of payment shall be determined by The Philadelphia Citizen.

Odds of winning will vary based on the number of eligible voters who participate in the election.

The winners will be announced on thephiladelphiacitizen.org within 30 days of verification that eligible winners has been selected.
