The Daily News columnist on letting go of being right

If you’d gone to the Clark Park arts festival last spring, you would have seen Daily News columnist Ronnie Polaneczky with her feet under her on a cozy living room chair, with another chair across from her, usually filled with someone who happened by. You could have sat in the chair. You could have talked to Polaneczky about, well, about anything at all. And she would have listened. Deliberately. With compassion, an open heart, and no judgement.

Polaneczky told this story last summer during a TEDxPhiladelphia talk that has just been released on YouTube. Watch it, below, to understand the power of what she calls deliberate listening. “It has changed every one of my relationships,” Polaneczky says. “And I think it could change the world.”
