The Philadelphia Citizen is made possible by generous support from individuals, corporations and foundations. We are committed to transparency in every aspect of funding our organization and invite you to view The Citizen’s 2021 Annual Report for a list of our donors, partners and members, and to learn about our growth and impact in 2021.

Donors, partners and members subscribe to The Philadelphia Citizen’s belief that promoting greater civic engagement and informed discourse is a direct route to a better and more productive Philadelphia. We accept gifts, grants and sponsorships from individuals, corporations and foundations to help with our general operations, coverage of specific topics, and special projects. They play no role in guiding the journalism produced by The Citizen.

We will make public all donors who give $1,000 or more per year in our annual report. When donors or corporate sponsors who have given $10,000 or more to The Citizen are named in our stories, we disclose them on those pages. We will not accept donations from sources who, deemed by our board of directors, present a conflict of interest with our work or compromise our independence.
