A short video by New York Times reporter Nicholas Kristof reminds the President of their shared immigrant past

Sometimes, it’s not the protest or the angry letter or the fact-checking news reports that speak truth. Sometimes, a quiet reminder is all it takes to point out the obvious: That our new President has a selective memory when it comes to one of the most pressing issues of our day—immigration. In this short video clip, Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof—who recently stopped a would-be burglar in his Philadelphia hotel room—sweeps through his city, telling a tale of a family of immigrants made good, good enough to produce the 45th President of the United States. It’s a beautiful, moving paean to the American story that Donald Trump would do well to watch. You can see it here:
