Connor Barwin

Connor Barwin is an All-Pro defensive end for the Philadelphia Eagles.  He is originally from Detroit and attended the University of Cincinnati. After being drafted by the Houston Texans, he has been playing with the Eagles since 2013.

Connor is one of few pro athletes who truly gets involved in the community in which he lives. Whether it’s renovating parks in South Philly, riding his bike to work, being a public advocate for SEPTA, or participating in public forums, Connor embodies the civic engagement that all citizens should strive for.

Connor is also the founder of the Make the Word Better Foundation (MTWB). He writes a weekly column for The Citizen, Connor Barwin’s Civic Season, in which he compares the civic health of Philadelphia to that of the home city of the Eagles’ opponents that week.
