A great way to do something about an issue you care about is to simply contact your representatives. That means your state representatives, your federal representatives, Philadelphia City Councilmembers, your ward leader, your committee person—anyone elected to make your life better.
Remember, each and everyone of these representatives are working for you and want to hear what you think. And if they don’t—tough luck! They can go find another job to be lackluster in.

Tips for contacting your representatives
It’s so easy, and effective:
- First, find out who your elected officials are for local, state, and federal.
- Decide which issue you want to talk about. You can often find a script for each issue already made, making it easier to get across your point. Fair Districts PA has a bunch of printable materials right here.
- Call, email, send a letter, or—maybe even better yet—tag them on social media with your message so everyone can chime in and retweet. Done!
