Wish the election was over already?
We’ve laughed and we’ve cried and no matter what happens, most of us could probably use a drink and a cuddle. Nurture that revolutionary soul with dance. Let’s reinvigorate as a community so we can get back to the urgent organizing to boldly do the real work.
Get Lucid! And The Philadelphia Citizen present the Election Hangover Party at Ruba Club on the lucky date of Friday 11/11/16. Make a wish for Philadelphia and let’s look forward together, leaving the charades and shenanigans of the election behind.
There are a lot of reasons to come out on 11/11:
Two floors of art and music in the historic Ruba Club
Join The Philadelphia Citizen as they launch their membership, which benefits 4 local nonprofits
Network with a variety of grassroots organizations, including Coded by Kids, Covenant House, St. Christopher’s Foundation, and Temple University Hospital’s Cradle 2 Grave initiative
Say farewell to the Get Lucid! brand and see what all its contributors are up to now.

Since 2012, Get Lucid! The Activist Dance Party has gathered grassroots organizers, artists, and party-goers from diverse communities across Philadelphia to fundraise for and celebrate various social justice organizations. The Activist Dance Party is a blend of local music, interactive performances, spoken word and visual experiences centered around the celebration of Philadelphia’s art and activism. The various contributors, leaders and members are now all actively engaged in new projects and carrying this work in new directions. On 11/11 we’ll be celebrating those new directions and bidding farewell to the Get Lucid! Astronaut.
The venue is easily accessible by public transportation, just a couple of blocks away from the Spring Garden stop on the Market Frankford Line (El). Street parking in the neighborhood is also available.
The Philadelphia Citizen will only publish thoughtful, civil comments. If your post is offensive, not only will we not publish it, we'll laugh at you while hitting delete.
