CITIZENCAST
The original Citizen podcast, CitizenCast, dives deep into the political, social and cultural workings of our city with explainers on the issues of our day, interviews, conversations and solutions. Lots of solutions. All to help you become a better citizen of Philadelphia.
HOW TO REALLY RUN A CITY
Former Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, former Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, and Philadelphia Citizen co-founder Larry Platt talk about what it really takes to get sh*t done in cities on the newest Citizen podcast, How to Really Run a City, with a special guest joining each episode. With new episodes monthly, How to Really Run a City is made possible thanks to the generous support of Comcast NBCUniversal and Diversified Search Group.
PHILLY UNDER FIRE
Philly Under Fire tells the stories of Philadelphians intimately affected by the city’s gun violence, those working to end it, those who have found solutions here and elsewhere—and those who have failed to step up to this moment when we most need them.
Philadelphia experienced a tragic surge in gun violence in 2020, with 499 of our fellow residents killed and another 2,200 shot. The Citizen tried to understand the causes, effects and fixes for gun violence in Philadelphia and around the country in this seven-episode Citizen podcast series. We spent 2020 reporting on the issue, while both Covid-19 and shootings devastated neighborhoods around the city.
